February 25, 2016 : 2016 Individual Artist Grant, Hillsborough Arts Council, Tampa, Florida. The grant is designed to provide support for the professional growth of accomplished artists. Dan was reviewed and scored by a six-member panel of arts professionals. Dan was awarded $3,000.00 for equipment to expand his metal art techniques.
November 1, 2008 : Citrus County Festival of the Arts Best in Division, Juried Art Award Inverness, Florida. The Best in Division Award is second only to the overall Best in Show. This juried art show is sponsored by The Festival of The Arts Committee Inc., The Citrus County Chronicle, and The City of Inverness.

Dan Balk personally believes that a business should be socially conscious. Because of his strong sense of responsibility to the community and society at large, he often donates jewelry to local and national causes.
